How to Set Up Your Basic Hosted Exchange Email Account on iPhone or iPad

This article will guide you through the process of setting up your Basic Hosted Exchange email account on your iPhone or iPad.

Things you’ll need

  • Email address: If you don’t have an email account, you’ll need to create one in your control panel first.
    For more information, see Creating a Hosted Exchange mailbox.
  • Incoming mail server(POP/IMAP): exchange.openconnect.com.au
  • Outgoing mail server(SMTP): smtpauth.openconnect.com.au
  • Email account user name: Your full email address.
  • Email account password: If you’ve forgotten your password, you will need to reset it from your Uber Control Panel.

Setting up your email account

1. Select the Settings icon on your devices home screen.

2. Scroll down and tap Mail, Contacts and Calendars.

3. Tap Add Account.

4. Tap Other.

5. Tap Add Mail Account.

6. Fill in your Name, Email Address, and Password then click Next.

7. Select POP or IMAP

8. Fill in your incoming mail server information with the following:

Name: Can be anything you want.
Email Address: Enter your email address
Description: Can be anything you want.

Host Name: exchange.openconnect.com.au
User Name: Your full email address
Password: Can be reset from your My.Uber Control Panel

9. Fill in your outgoing mail server with the following details:

Host Name: smtpauth.openconnect.com.au
User Name: Your full email address
Password: Can be reset from your My.Uber Control Panel

Click Next once you have filled in these settings.

10.  You may be prompted to allow insecure connections. Just click continue and save the changes.

11. Your account will now have been created. If you can send and receive email then you have completed this setup guide. If you cannot send or receive mail, tap the account you just created.

12. Tap your account again.

13. Tap the SMTP Server button.

14. Select the primary mail server.

15. Ensure your settings are correct:

  • Hostname: smtpauth.openconnect.com.au
  • Username: Full email address
  • Password: Your email address password
  • Use SSL: On
  • Authentication: Password
  • Server Port 587

Once you have confirmed your settings are correct, tap Done.

16. Click Account.

17. Tap the Advanced button.

18. Verify your incoming server settings are correct:

  • Use SSL: On for IMAP and Off for POP
  • Authentication: Password
  • Server Port: 995 for IMAP and 110 for POP

Click Account once you have verified your settings are correct.

19. To save the changes, click the Done button.

Complete: You have now set up your IMAP email account on your iPhone.
